I’ve
bookmarked this recipe for quite a while from a French blog Beau à la louche & now it’s about time to try this intriguing
savory loaf cake . This recipe calls for
bacon but I’ve replaced it with ham . I suppose that bacon
taste better than ham in this recipe .
Nevertheless it's a very
refreshing savory cake with avocado & the wasabi
was what makes the difference . Wasabi is also called Japanese horseradish which can only be found in Japan . And it is difficult to cultivate
real wasabi that makes them quite
expensive . This root is usually used as
a condiment which has a very strong pungent
flavour, stronger than hot mustard . I’ve
used wasabi powder for this recipe & you can find it in all Asian grocery
stores . I’ve added 2 tbsp of wasabi
powder & it was perfect without tasting too spicy . But if
you’re not keen of the wasabi's spicy taste , you can always reduce it to 1
tbsp of wasabi instead of 2 tbsp . A very
interesting recipe with ingredients that
I would have never thought of combining
them together! Amazing!
Jane Austen moment in Persuasion
Chapter 9
"Upon my word it would," replied Mary. "Dear me! If he should rise to any very great honours! If he should ever be made a baronet! `Lady Wentworth' sounds very well. That would be a noble thing, indeed, for Henrietta! She would take place of me then, and Henrietta would not dislike that. Sir Frederick and Lady Wentworth! It would be but a new creation, however, and I never think much of your new creations."
